Political activist and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) member Aisha Yesufu has declared that supporters of presidential candidate Peter Obi will not rely on electoral institutions to safeguard their votes during the 2027 presidential election. Speaking during an interview on Arise News regarding lessons from the 2023 general election, Yesufu stated that Obi's supporters plan to deploy observers across all polling units and directly monitor the transport of electoral materials through every stage of collation. Yes, we are going to have people at every polling unit to protect the votes, Yesufu stated. No result sheet will leave our sight.
