Jordan Henderson has completed a surprise move to Chelsea, revealing that the opportunity to join the Stamford Bridge club was one he could not turn down.The Blues reportedly convinced the 36-year-old midfielder to leave Brentford after manager Xabi Alonso identified the need to add more experience to his squad.Chelsea quickly agreed personal terms with Henderson after making their interest in the free agent clear, with the former Premier League title winner signing a two-year deal. The injury forced him to undergo surgery and ended his World Cup campaign prematurely.Despite the setback, Henderson remains determined to compete for more trophies after winning eight major honours during his time at Liverpool. The midfielder made 32 Premier League appearances for Brentford last season as the club narrowly missed out on European qualification.Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso explained that his decision to bring in Henderson and Danny Welbeck was based on creating the right balance between youth and experience within the squad. Alonso said: You need the right balance of personalities, of maturity stages, early twenties with early thirties and in between, players in different stages of their careers.Theres not a formula for that, but there is a feeling for that.
