Google has officially confirmed a Made by Google event for August 12, 2026, in New York City. The Pixel 11 Pro XL is one of the devices expected to take the stage, and leaks have already surfaced most of what you need to know before the announcement.
This article brings together everything confirmed and credibly reported so far, covering when the phone arrives, what it can do, what it costs, and where to get it.
When will the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL be released?
Google has officially set August 12, 2026 as the date for its Made by Google event in New York City. The keynote starts at 6 PM ET (3 PM PT, 11 PM WAT) and is expected to be where the Pixel 11 Pro XL is officially unveiled alongside the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel Watch 5, and others.
Based on Dealabs pricing information, the phone should go on sale on August 20, 2026, eight days after the announcement. That matches the gap Google used between announcement and shipping for the Pixel 10 series.
Pre-orders are expected to open the same day as the event, August 12. Google is also running a pre-order promo: sign up for Google marketing emails before August 7, receive a promo code on August 11, and redeem it through August 27.
Google Pixel 11 Pro XL detailed specs
Every spec below comes from leaks and credible reporting. None of this is official until Google announces on August 12.
The five main leak sources are: a now-deleted accidental Google Amazon listing, a Dealabs pricing leak, OnLeaks/Android Headlines CAD renders, Evan Blass marketing images, and FCC filings.
1. Display
The Pixel 11 Pro XL is expected to carry a 6.8-inch Super Actua OLED LTPO panel with a 2992 x 1344 resolution and an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness is reported at up to 3,600 nits (approximately 2,450 nits at full-screen HDR brightness). The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and reportedly uses Samsung’s newer M16 OLED panel material.
2. Processor and RAM
The phone runs on Google’s Tensor G6 chip, built on TSMC’s 2nm process. It pairs with a Titan M3 security chip and a MediaTek M90 modem. The modem swap is confirmed via FCC filings, and it brings satellite connectivity, dual-active 5G SIM support, and speeds of up to 12Gbps.
One detail worth knowing before you decide which storage tier to buy: the 256GB model reportedly comes with 12GB of RAM, while the 512GB and 1TB versions get 16GB. Every Pixel 10 Pro XL had 16GB regardless of storage, so the base model is taking a step back on RAM while costing more. Google has confirmed that prices are up this year, attributing it to a severe RAM shortage that has pushed the price of LPDDR5X memory roughly sixfold since last year.
3. Storage
Three storage options are expected:
- 256GB
- 512GB
- 1TB
- All options use UFS 4.x storage, and there is no card slot.
128GB models are gone across the entire Pixel 11 lineup.
4. Camera
The Pixel 11 Pro XL is expected to share the same rear camera setup as the smaller Pixel 11 Pro:
- 50MP main camera (f/1.7 aperture)
- 48MP ultrawide camera with macro focus
- 48MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and up to 120x Pro Zoom
- Optical-quality zoom at 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x, and 10x
For the selfie camera, there is a genuine conflict in the leaks. Android Headlines lists 42MP (matching the Pixel 10 Pro’s front camera).
Google’s own accidental Amazon listing and Android Central both point to 13MP. The 13MP figure is treated as more likely here given it comes from Google’s own listing, but this is one spec that stays unresolved until August 12.
5. Battery and charging
Battery capacity is reported at 5,115mAh (typical) with a 5,000mAh rated minimum. Both figures refer to the same cell, just measured differently. That is a step down from the Pixel 10 Pro XL’s 5,200mAh, likely in the service of a slimmer build.
Charging is 45W wired and Qi2 wireless. No charger is included in the box. One thing to note: 45W is carried over from the Pixel 10 Pro XL, not a new upgrade for this model.
6. Design and build
Leaked renders show a design that is very close to the Pixel 10 Pro XL. Dimensions are 162.7 x 76.5 x 8.5mm and weight is 226g. The camera bar is now all-black across all colour options, dropping the two-tone finish from previous years.
A new addition is “Pixel Glow” (now officially called HiLight by Google): an RGB LED light strip built into the camera bar.
This is an exclusive Pro and Pro XL feature. It supports colours including blue, cyan, green, orange, pink, purple, turquoise, white, and yellow, and can be set to light up for specific contacts or notification types. Google has officially teased this feature in a promo video.
The phone keeps IP68 water resistance and uses an in-display fingerprint scanner alongside face unlock.
7. Software
The Pixel 11 Pro XL is expected to ship with Android 17, and Google has confirmed a seven-year support policy of OS updates, security patches, and Pixel Drops.
8. Connectivity
Based on FCC filings and leak reports, connectivity includes:
- 5G sub-6GHz and mmWave
- Satellite connectivity via the MediaTek M90 modem
- Wi-Fi 6E (worth noting: the Pixel 10 Pro XL had Wi-Fi 7, so this is a step down if confirmed)
- Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, UWB, Thread, dual-band GNSS

How much will the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL cost?
Prices are up compared to the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Google has confirmed this publicly.
The company’s VP of Devices and Services, Shakil Barkat, told 9to5Google that the cost of LPDDR5X RAM has risen roughly sixfold since 2025 and that Google could no longer absorb it.
Every storage tier gets a $100 (approximately £80 / €100) increase over the equivalent Pixel 10 Pro XL option.
Leaked pricing across US, UK, and EU markets:
All prices are based on the accidental Amazon listing (US) and a Dealabs leak reported by 9to5Google and Notebookcheck (UK and EU). They are credible but not yet official.
For South Africa: no pricing or availability has surfaced from any approved source. Google typically rolls Pixels out to South Africa through third-party importers and retailers rather than a local Google Store, so SA pricing and availability will need to be confirmed separately after the August 12 announcement.
What colours does the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL come in?
Four colour options are expected for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, shared with the Pixel 11 Pro:
- Dune: a warm pink-copper tone with a champagne frame
- Light Fog: white with a pale blue tint
- Midnight Haze: black
- Pine: green with a polished gold frame
There is one important storage restriction: the 1TB model will only be available in Midnight Haze. If you want Dune, Light Fog, or Pine, your maximum storage option is 512GB.
