I’m hungry. My children live in the city but they don't visit or check on me - Elderly woman caught stealing farm produce in Kaduna shares her sad story

A Kaduna farmer, Flow Ginger, who has been lamenting over theft of produce from his farm, finally caught one of the suspects on Sunday.   According to him, the suspect, an elderly woman, had allegedly stolen corn, groundnut and yam, claiming she was driven by hunger.   He stated that the incident initially angered him but his anger melted away once he heard her sad story.  The elderly woman explained that her children live far in the city and never visit or check on her.  She added that when she borrows a phone to call call, they only make empty promises. To be honest, what this mama told me almost made me cry. She said all her children are in the city. None of them checks on her, he wrote. "She doesnt even have a phone to call them. Whenever she borrows someones phone to call, they will promise... And at the end of the day, nothing comes. "She said the corn, groundnut and yam she was trying to take. Was because she wanted to eat. "At first I was angry. She tried to play smart. But how can I not forgive her? Shes old enough to be my grandmother. "If it was a young man, story would be different.But this is a mama.
