Lionel Messi has achieved another milestone in his remarkable career after leading Inter Miami to a 2-0 victory over Cruz Azul to win the 2026 Michelob ULTRA Campeones Cup at Nu Stadium on Wednesday night. The Argentine football legend opened the scoring with a 24th-minute header assisted by Luis Surez, reaching the century mark just over three years after joining the club, before assisting Casemiro for the second. Inter Miami have now lifted a trophy in four consecutive seasons every year since Messi's transformative arrival in South Florida midway through the 2023 campaign. The Campeones Cup is contested between the MLS champion and the winner of Mexicos Campen de Campeones. The victory marked Inter Miamis first Campeones Cup title and their fourth major trophy since Messi arrived in South Florida.Messis trophy haul with Inter Miami now includes the 2023 Leagues Cup, 2024 Supporters Shield, 2025 MLS Cup and 2026 Campeones Cup. The club has therefore won silverware in every season since his arrival midway through the 2023 campaign. Across his illustrious career, Messis 48 trophies have come with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Argentina and Inter Miami.
