Man sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for def!ling his 13-year-old stepdaughter

The Bekwai Circuit Court in Ghana has sentenced a 38-year-old farmer, David Donkor, to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour after finding him guilty of def!ling his 13-year-old stepdaughter. Donkor had been arraigned on one count of defilement, contrary to Section 101 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), following investigations by the Bekwai Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU). According to the prosecution, the offence occurred in December 2024 at Afoako, near Bekwai, where the convict unlawfully had sexual intercourse with the 13-year-old victim, who is his stepdaughter. The girls 27-year-old mother reported the matter to Bekwai DOVVSU after learning of the incident. Prosecutors told the court that the convict fled the community after he was confronted, forcing police to launch a manhunt.  The victim was subsequently taken for medical examination, and the medical report formed part of the prosecutions evidence. Police later received intelligence that Donkor had been spotted at Ntotroso in the Ahafo Region.  With the assistance of the Ntotroso Police, he was arrested on January 8, 2026, and transferred to Bekwai DOVVSU to assist with investigations. Court documents indicated that during investigations, the accused admitted to the offence in his caution statement before he was charged and put before the Bekwai Circuit Court. After hearing the case, the court found Donkor guilty and sentenced him to 10 years imprisonment in hard labour.The post Man sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for def!ling his 13-year-old stepdaughter appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
