Military rescues abducted soldier and civilian in Zamfara
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued an abducted soldier, Lance Corporal Basiru Labbo, along with a civilian, Lauwali Dan Ada, in Zamfara State. Lance Corporal Labbo had been held in captivity following his abduction along the ZuruAnka highway on July 22, 2026.  The Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force North-West OPFY, Lt. Colonel Aliyu Danja, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, July 29. According to the statement, the victims were rescued during an offensive fighting patrol targeting terrorist hideouts.  Both victims were safely extracted from the enclave following a sustained tactical sweep aimed at clearing remnant terrorist strongholds across the North West. Upon their rescue, the duo was immediately evacuated to a military health facility where they are currently receiving medical evaluation and other necessary administrative procedures.  "Operation Fansan YAMMA remains committed to sustained offensive operations and rescue efforts aimed at protecting lives and restoring security across the North West," the statement added. The post Military rescues abducted soldier and civilian in Zamfara appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
