NSCDC uncovers illegal juice factory in Lagos

 The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, today September 21, uncovered an alleged illegal juice production facility in Badagry, arresting two women in connection with the illegal facility. While speaking to newsmen after uncovering the illegal facility, the Civil Defence Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, SC Oluwaseun Abolurin, said the names of the two suspects were being withheld while investigations continue. He said the factory allegedly supplied the illegal packs of juice, to markets across Lagos, with already-packaged products found at the facility, some reportedly loaded into container vehicles for distribution. Abolurin also alleged that juveniles between the ages of 15 and 16 were involved in activities at the facility. Items reportedly recovered included sugar, water, adhesives, dyes and colourants, which the Corps said were used in the production process.When interrogated, one of the suspects claimed the factory was established by her grandmother and had operated for nearly 20 years before shutting down due to challenges. She said the business was working towards renewing its registration with NAFDAC and only produced about three or four times a year based on customer orders. The NSCDC said investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will soon be charged to court.The post NSCDC uncovers illegal juice factory in Lagos appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
