Police arrest two suspects over N3m irrigation pipe theft in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects over the alleged theft of eight underground irrigation water pipes valued at about N3 million in Yola South Local Government Area. The suspects, identified as 45-year-old Ibrahim Mohammed of Wauro Jabbe and 28-year-old Jemilu Yahaya of Jambutu Bypass, were arrested by operatives of the Kofare Divisional Police Headquarters following credible information. According to the police, the pipes were allegedly stolen from the farm of the late Alhaji Bamanga Tukur in the Gayewa area of Yola South. Preliminary investigations revealed that Mohammed allegedly stole the pipes and sold them to Yahaya, who was described by the Police as a scavenger. The police said one Carry-Go motorcycle and the stolen irrigation pipes have been recovered. The suspects are currently in police custody as investigation continues, with the Command saying they will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation. The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, fdc, commended members of the public for providing timely information and urged residents to continue supporting the Police with credible information to strengthen intelligence-led policing and the fight against crime in the state. The post Police arrest two suspects over N3m irrigation pipe theft in Adamawa appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
