"You don’t get to turn my widowhood into a punishment" - Nigerian woman slams man she accused of questioning her right to find happiness after her husband's d3ath

A Nigerian widow, Enwongo Akpan, has called a Facebook user, m Prince Levite, for allegedly suggesting she has no right to be happy after husband's d3ath.  Addressing the man in a Facebook post on Thursday, September 17, 2026, Enwongo stated that widowhood is not a punishment and other people do not get to dictate how she lives. She emphasized that she will grieve her husband and honor his memory while exercising her right to find happiness.  Anyone that knows this 2 minutes  man should tell him to avoid me, she wrote. Prince Levite you claim to be who's friend?  You dont get to decide how a widow is supposed to live, laugh or find happiness. I lost my husband; I did not lose my right to live. If my happiness offends you, that is something you need to examine within yourself, not something I need to apologize for. And honestly, using someones grief as a weapon says far more about your character than it ever will about mine. My husband died. My life didnt.I will grieve him, miss him, honour his memory and still have every right to smile and be happy. You dont get to turn my widowhood into a punishment. Death na rain, e dey fall for every roof. I'm glad you have a wife at home. And the fact that you chose someones greatest pain as a weapon tells me everything. I need to know about you. I pray you will experience the kind of loss that teaches you why those words were cruel.
